Online SMA Provider Completes Multi-Million Dollar Financing Round

A company providing an online wealth management service that allows investors to copy the holdings of smaller hedge funds has raised $12. 75 million in a series B financing round . Investors in the round included Union Square Ventures, Spark Capital, Amadeus Capital Partners, and Bay Partners The firm, Covestor, aims to get investors access to smaller managers which it says are “more nimble and can outperform larger hedge funds,” according to Sanjoy Ghosh, its chief investment officer.

Satuit Targets Costs With Cloud-Based CRM Offering

Satuit Technologies has released a cloud-based client relationship management platform aimed at bringing down the cost of business development for smaller wealth managers and advisors. SatuitCPM includes traditional CRM features, statement and report generation, document management, expense management and a client portal . It is integrated with Outlook and can be run on a desktop or tablet device.

Russell Investments Unveils Online Asset Class Dashboard

Russell Investments has launched the Asset Class Dashboard, an online tool the firm said can help advisors “establish context and perspective” with clients when evaluating asset class performance. The Asset Class Dashboard compares current 12-month returns to historical and typical returns for a sample of asset classes, represented by their relevant indexes . The dashboard gives a visual representation of these returns, helping to simplify comparisons.

John Hancock Funds Unveils Portfolio Diversification App

John Hancock Funds, the Boston, MA-based mutual fund business unit of John Hancock Financial, has launched the iDiversify app, designed to help financial advisors talk to investors about porfolio diversification. Schwab Ramps Up Its Outsourcing, Tech Review Offerings

Two subsidiaries of Charles Schwab have launched upgrades to their technology offerings. Schwab Performance Technologies has launched PortfolioCenter Hosted, a combination of portfolio management software and outsourced infrastructure . This means RIAs can outsource physical infrastructure (servers, back up equipment, hardware, secure premises) combined with software administration (updates, upgrades, IT consulting/support services).
