Northern Trust has appointed Suzanne Shier as tax strategist for its personal financial services division. In her new role, Shier will contribute to the discussion of issues surrounding federal tax - with a focus on charitable giving, trust law and tax legislation, the firm said in a statement . Previously, Shier was a partner at Chapman and Cutler, where she led the firm’s trusts and estates practice group.

Boston-headquartered Equipos, a client reporting and marketing communications company, has promoted Richard Hammond to vice president and global financial and client reporting domain expert. Hammond joined the firm two years ago and since then has worked on deploying the company’s technology for Northern Trust and Toronto Dominion Asset Management . Before joining Equipos, he worked at Actuate Software.

Signature Bank hired a trio from Wells Fargo for its growing private client banking team. Craig Anzalone, group director and senior vice president leads the three-person team and was joined by Patricia Modena, associate group director and vice president, and Karen Perry-Taylor, senior client associate . Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, Bank of America's brokerage business, brought in two teams of financial advisors, hiring a team from Credit Suisse’s US-based private banking unit and one from Wells Fargo Advisors.

Weeks has more than 25 years of private banking experience serving high net worth clients and their families . Before BNY Mellon, she was a senior vice president and private banking team leader at Northern Trust and served for three years as a senior private banker at US Trust.

Nixon joined Northern Trust in 2004 as a senior portfolio manager and went on to become chief investment officer for the Northeast region in 2005 . Before joining Northern Trust, she worked at US Trust for 18 years.
